Hello my dear, lovely friends!

In today’s blog post I want to share with you all of the following…

  • The benefits of having a free Facebook group for your business

  • Why a past Facebook Group that you had “didn’t work.”

  • How to make your Facebook profitable

  • How to consistently add value

  • How to grow your Facebook Group

  • 6 Steps on how to set up your Facebook Group right now

First, let’s dive into the benefits of having a free Facebook group…

  • It provides a place for your prospects to gather and a place for you to nurture them.

  • It also becomes a source for lead generation, similar to that of an email list.

  • Source insights and data using the poll feature inside the group/ immediate feedback

  • Direct access to your potential customers

  • Provides personal engagement

  • Builds know, like, and trust factor between you and members

You may have had a Facebook group in the past and decided to shut it down by archiving it, or maybe your Facebook group is stale and you lack motivation in engaging with it. If this is you, I get you and I’ve been there too. Typically when you lack motivation for anything it is because you lack a strong why. If you don’t know why you’re doing something it is challenging to get yourself to commit to it. If you have a free Facebook group but don’t know why you’re doing it or understand how it fits into your overall strategy it is difficult to see the benefit of it. Through today’s post, I hope that it inspires you to rethink your Facebook group and HOW you’re thinking about it in your overall business strategy. Because when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

You want to make sure that you have a strong purpose and why for your free Facebook group. For most business owners, having a free Facebook group comes down to one key thing: lead generation. Facebook groups are a wonderful way to cultivate community and the know, like, and trust factor that is needed when it comes to potential customers making a purchasing decision and ultimately results in profitability. Facebook groups allow you to create traction within your business and direct access to your prospects. Because you don’t own Facebook and everything could change in an instant, you will still want to build your email list. When you set up your Facebook group there is an option for you to ask three questions when someone requests access. One question should collect an email address, the other two you want to be qualifying, meaning, it will help you better understand how you can serve them and understand whether they are a strong lead for you. These 3 questions can change over time, but I recommend starting with these three questions…

  • Where are you in the journey of building your business?

  • What are the top 1-3 things that would help take your business to the next level?

  • We're excited to share our exclusive Her Way Community resources with you! Drop your email below to get access:

Not everyone will provide their email address and it is up to you to decide whether or not you want to let that person into your group. The benefit to this is that you can still collect their email address without needing them to sign up for a freebie or download. Your Facebook group becomes your next step of engagement after connecting with them through Linkedin, Facebook or Instagram. It becomes a call-to-action.

At She Did it Her Way, we also use our Facebook group heavily during our launches as a way to engage directly with prospects.

To avoid a stale Facebook group, you want to create consistently with how you’re showing up, conversation starters and engagement.

  • Weekly training: decide on a certain day of the week and time that you are going to go live and teach something. You can also choose to bring in guest experts. Finally, you can easily create events inside of your group.

  • Schedule out content in advance that gets posted to your group.

  • Ask members to share their IG handle.

  • Engage members with polls, questions, commenting, etc.

The way you grow your Facebook group is by making the invitation to your Facebook group your call-to-action on other platforms.

For example, on Instagram…

  • Update your profile with a CTA to invite followers to join your Facebook group.

  • When someone new follows you, greet them and ask them if they’d like a link to join your free FB group. Tell them the purpose of the group in the message. Wait for them to say YES, then supply them with the link.

  • In your stories, grid or IGTV you can invite people to join.

LinkedIn…

  • On your profile

  • At the end of a post

  • At the end of a live, same thing.

  • When someone likes your post or live, DM them and invite them

Facebook Business page…

  • On your profile

  • When someone likes your post or live, DM them and invite them

Six things to consider in setting up your Facebook Group:

  • Decide on a name (don’t overthink this)

  • Create a Facebook Cover graphic (Canva)

  • Create the group on Facebook

  • Update your social media handles to invite people in

  • Decide your content cadence and actual content calendar for the group

  • Start inviting folks in!
