A Year In Review With Amanda Boleyn
Hello beautiful friends!
I can’t believe this is the final episode of 2019. It is super fun to look back at the year and acknowledge all the growth and changes that have been made.
I love doing a year-end reflection. While setting new goals is super fun, it is super important to also reflect on the previous year. Because in order to figure out where you want to go and HOW you’re going to get there, you first need to figure out where you’re at and where you’ve come from.
Not doing this step in the process can be costly.
Without taking time to reflect on the past year, you could find yourself thinking you’re in Austin Texas, planning on getting to LA but never actually getting there because you don’t accurately know where you’re at.
Today, I want to share some things with you to help reflect on your 2019:
I’m going to introduce you to a tool called the Wheel of Life
Questions to ask yourself about your 2019

There will be seasons in your life when your wheel is somewhat unbalanced, and that is okay. Sometimes, the best results are produced when things are unbalanced. For example, if you are focused on Life Planning, specifically saving for let’s say a downpayment for a house, you may not big on recreation; vacations, hobbies because you’re deciding to focus on saving rather than spending.
Another example, if you’re in the beginning stages of building your business, your wheel may be heavier on the work and less on other areas of the wheel.
The goal is to plan where you want to be intentional and spend time vs being reactive to where you’re spending your time.

There are many things about each category that I could choose to look at and focus on what didn’t happen, what goals I didn’t reach, what went wrong, but I’m choosing to focus on the good. What worked well, and most of all, what I’m most proud of.
Based on the results in each of the 8 areas, I can now confidently and strategically decide the direction of my life for 2020 and where I want to focus my time and energy to produce the results I want, the emotions I want to feel.
When you reflect, I want you to focus on a few different things:
What worked well, what were the positives, what are you most proud of
What were some key milestones, the results you produced?
How did you emotionally feel throughout the year? Where was your emotional home? Our thoughts create our emotions, our emotions create our actions and our actions create our results. Were you feeling inspired, frustrated, overwhelmed?
Because your emotions are caused by your thoughts, all you need to do is decide ahead of time how you want to feel and identify the thought that helps you create that emotion.
Emotions to feel in 2020:
Easy
Certain
Flow/Aligned
Committed
Abundant
You get to decide what are the emotions you want to feel in 2020.
Next, what are the lessons you learned about 2019?
Some of mine...
How to be a better spouse
How to own my worth
How to practice saying no
How to think about my business and overwhelm
How to be a better boss
Always remember to focus on the good and what came out of it! Ask yourself…
What was your primary emotion that fueled 2019?
What were your key lessons in 2019? and
Decide what you want for 2020.
